Why a shape

A hand history makes you read it top to bottom and rebuild the hand in your head. A PFTR strip shows the whole hand at once. Each player has a row and each street has a column. A stroke goes down as the action moves to the next player and climbs when it comes back around. A thick stroke marks the moment someone takes the initiative. You see who drove the hand, where it turned, and how big it got before you read a single word.

It still reads as a sentence. Under the strip, the same hand is written out street by street, and Next walks it one action at a time, with the stroke, the sentence and the pot moving together.

The link carries the hand, so whoever opens it sees exactly this.
